Make Your Own: Artichokes


My awesome friend Tish taught me how to make artichokes recently and I really liked them!!!

2 artichokes
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 a red onion, diced
Extra Virgin Olive Oil (cold-pressed, organic)
Freshly cracked pepper, salt (optional)

  1.  Snip sharp points off artichoke leaves
  2. Drizzle Olive Oil over artichokes
  3.  Stuff inside of leaves with onions and garlic, top with pepper and salt
  4. Add 1/2 cup of water in a deep pot and bring it to a boil
  5. Place the artichokes in (directly in the water or on a steamer) and reduce heat to low simmer and put lid on. 
  6. Let steam for about 35 minutes...then take remove out and spread open leaves.
