Make Your Own: Steamed Clams


These are SO easy and delicious!!!!!
Ingredients:
2 tsp salt 
1 container filled with water (enough to cover the clams)
a dozen clams (throw out any that are already open)
1/2 cup water
lemon wedges

3 tsp butter (See clarified butter recipe here)


  1. Add salt to water container. Add clams. Let soak for 10 minutes.
  2. After 10 minutes, rinse and scrub clam shells.
  3. Put 1/2 cup water in a pot. It should be enough to cover the bottom of the pot.  Heat the water to a boil, place clams in the water.
  4. Reduce heat, place lid, and simmer for 10 minutes.
After 10 minutes, all clams should be open. Serve with clarified butter and lemon wedges. Mmmm!!!
