What Do You NEED in Your Kitchen?

Okay, by now, you must know that Jamie Oliver is right up there with Dr. Oz on my list of fabulous people.  Oprah has several articles about/by Jamie Oliver and I particularly liked this one...

Which do you have? Are there any things that he missed? Are any of these non-essentials?

I think he needs to flip-flop wooden spoons and pestle and mortar. I have both. I use my spoons for almost every meal I cook, but I have used my pestle and mortar maybe one time is the past four years. I definitely don't feel it's an essential item in my kitchen. Otherwise, I think this list is a pretty good starting point for new home chefs.

Do you have a bench scraper? I can't live without mine! Great for cutting bar cookies, picking up chopped veggies, and cleaning up the flour after making pie crust. It's a must have in my kitchen!
